Backpacks For Veterans in Need

Donation protected
Because we've surpassed our goal, we will not only be delivering backpacks to needy veterans, we will be delivering a check to the O'Connell Valor Fund so that more Veterans receive support.  Rather than contribute to this project, please consider a donation to the OVF or to Liberty House, both links below.

These two kids have a vision of making the world a better place, just by doing something good for someone else during this season of giving.

Through December, they're buying backpacks, filling them with essentials - tooth brushes, first aid kits, lip balm - and handing them out to Veterans in need.  People who may not have very much or perhaps have nothing at all in this season of giving.

In Worcester, MA the average high temperature in January is 31.3°F; the average low is 16.8°F.  Its a long night if you have to spend it sleeping on the street.

We're trying to get as many backpacks as we can out by New Years so no one has to go without. To do so, we need your help.  UPDATE: We've more than surpassed our goal and because of this we've been able to significantly enhance what our original backpacks were going to be.

We're asking the community and you, our friends, to help defray some of the cost of this project if you're able.

We are partnering with the O'Connell Valor Fund to help us identify Veterans who can really use the love and support in this season of giving.   Your contribution will help us buy more supplies and help more people than we'd be able to on our own.

While this is to help defray our costs in building this outreach and not a direct contribution to a charity in general or The O'Connell Valor Fund in specific, if you would like to donate directly to the OVF or if you would like to know more about the fund, they can be found at https://www.facebook.com/OConnell-Valor-Fund-Inc-976860855690533

We will be delivering our 24 backpacks to Liberty House, a ten-bed transitional housing facility in Manchester, NH. Since 2004, they have been providing a safe, supportive, substance-free housing community for American veterans transitioning out of homelessness.

Liberty House can be found at http://libertyhousenh.org/
