Backpacks for Everyone Eagle Scout Project

When the time to pick an Eagle Scout project came around, Aidan knew helping kids was important and was shocked to learn that most of the 2200 foster kids here in Orange County go to school without backpacks or basic school supplies. That must be really hard...when life is already hard enough for those kids. Doing well in school can make a huge difference in the number of options these kids have as they exit foster care and having school supplies can make all the difference. It's hard to learn vocabulary words if you don't have index cards to make flash cards, right? So...Aidan's Eagle Project is to raise money to buy backpacks and stuff them full of school supplies like paper, pens, pencils, highlighters, notebooks and index cards. His goal is 100, but he will do as many as possible! Any contribution will mean so much. He is having a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, October 26th to raise funds and will be buying the backpacks and supplies the following week.
