Backpacks and Gift Cards for Homeless Vets

The Johnson-Kelley Jr. Auxiliary from Kingston, MN participated in a community project last year called, Backpacks for Homeless Vets.  We just completed the 2nd event and were able to raise enough money in donations to fill 30 backpacks with personal care items, warm weather gear, snacks, masks, gift cards to McDonalds,  etc.  We had learned through the contact at the St. Cloud VA that there are 90 known homeless vets in the area so we then went back to asking local businesses and entities for donations and were able to raise an additional $900 to provide a Christmas card and $10 gift card to McDonalds to all known homeless vets!!! Our goal for 2021 is quite lofty and higher than we have ever dreamed of achieving but we are hoping to be able to provide 90 backpacks in addition to more gift cards for a local restaurant.  The backpack average approximately $50/per backpack.  Please help the Junior Auxiliary achieve their goal as it is near and dear to all of them.  Thank you so much for your consideration and possible donation; we wish you happiness and health!
