Backing Baby Barrett
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
This is a fundraiser to help the Proctor family with medical and travel expenses for baby Barrett. Within the past month, Michelle and John learned that their 4-month-old precious baby boy not only had craniosynostosis (the early fusion of baby Barrett’s skull) but that he will need a necessary skull surgery and will undergo an endoscopic strip craniectomy on August 8th to give his brain the space to grow as he grows. He will have this surgery performed at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and will then have multiple post-operative appointments in Minnesota as well as fittings and follow up fittings for a post-operative helmet only days apart in Dallas. That is a lot of traveling for a family with a 4-month-old and a two-year-old!
As you can imagine, this has come as quite a shock to the family and the unexpected medical and travel expenses can really add up! Thankfully, Michelle was able to take off two weeks to be with baby Barrett and her family during the surgery and the post-surgical period without jeopardizing her job. Unfortunately however, this time off will come without pay as she just used her FMLA after giving birth. This means that not only do they have unexpected expenses, they will now be losing income during this time as well. I know that any donations will be greatly appreciated during these upcoming weeks! Thank you for reading about baby Barrett’s story!
