Back2School - for children in Direct Provision

This August I'm raising money for Every Child is Your Child , a charity supporting children and parents seeking Asylum in Ireland.
Please donate what you can to help us buy Back2School supplies for children in Direct Provision centres in Ireland.

To help raise these funds, on August 18th I'm going to be swimming a 3KM open water swim as a personal challenge. I've never done any kind of distance swimming so would love your support!!

1,789 children in Ireland live in Direct Provision with another 304 in emergency accommodation.

While parents and children in Direct Provision receive a small weekly allowance, the cost of school supplies is a massive challenge for parents at this time of year. We want to help make going back to school a happy time for these children and let them just focus on learning rather than the financial burden.

• The average cost of books in primary school is €110 and €225 in secondary school
• The average cost of a uniform in primary school is €135 and €215 in secondary school

Along with books and uniforms, these funds will be used to buy shoes, stationary, backpacks.
