Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are excited to provide an update for our annual Back-to-School Event at Christ the Good Shepherd Church. This is a special event that we look forward to every year to bring smiles to kids’ faces and help lighten the financial burden for families in our Long Beach community. Each summer, we collect and purchase new school supplies, backpacks, shoes, and uniforms for hundreds of local children. In past years, we have tried to make this a fun-filled day with games and activities to get kids excited for the new school year.
This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Back-to-School Event will look different, but, by God’s grace, it will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020. We will prepackage all items and have families pick up their supply-filled backpacks to-go. Due to health precautions, we will be limiting attendance and cannot have servants from other churches attend. However, we would like to invite those interested to partner with us in this service.
Please help us sponsor a student - each $15 dollar donation helps us get a student a backpack and all the school supplies they need for their school year.
