Back to school for kids in Haiti

Donation protected
I’ve been back to Port-au-Prince for less than half a day and tonight I cannot sleep.  I cannot sleep because I am very concerned for all those children not being able to start school this month. I am concerned not only for the children but for the future of this country that I came to love so much. September is always a very difficult month here in PAP, with rising tensions related to the economical frustration felt by the majority of the population.

Last year, we took upon ourselves to help approximately 6-7 children go to school for a full year. This year, I want this number to go up. I want to be able to offer the gift of Education to additional children in our community. I cannot send my son to daycare every morning knowing that I did not try my best to send at least one extra kid to school.

This country has been good to me and it is my duty to give back. This Go Fund Me is created to send as many children as possible to school this year. School started 2 weeks ago, and a full year is approximately 56 000 HTG (800 US$), depending on the school and the year. This is 8 months of salary for most people here, lucky enough to have a job.The payments can be divided in 4 for all semesters. It is not too late for this semester.

I believe there is a limit to what we can do as individuals but collectively change and help is always possible and available.

Thank you to all who will donate, the amount does not count, the gesture does. I will be posting updates and any questions will be more then welcome throughout the year.

Thank you Jacques Messier for those beautiful pictures.
