Backing the Bakers

On the 9th of August, LaJuanna's husband, Robert, took her to the ER for a severe headache. While she was at the hospital, she had a brain aneurysm that ruptured and she was immediately flown to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC for surgery and treatment. She has had a couple follow-on procedures since then and they have been able to stabilize her intracranial pressure. LaJuanna will still be in the hospital for another 2 to 4 weeks at minimum as she begins her road to recovery.
If you know the Baker family, you know they are a family of fighters. They are an active Brazil-021 Jiu Jitsu family (Robert is one of our kid's coaches at Combat Club and all 5 of them train and compete!) and Robert and LaJuanna are also Marine Corps and OIF veterans.
As of now, Robert and their 3 boys are travelling back and forth every day to the hospital so they can forego the cost of a hotel. That is 4 hours of travelling each day!I have asked for $5000 to cover their first month of expenses. This may seem like a lot but it will cover their lost income for this month, the daily cost of gas to be by LaJuanna's side and the cost of food for Robert and LaJuanna's 3 active teenage boys. It added up fast when I was coming up with a figure.
The Baker family would never ask for this help themselves so please help me spread the word and help out this family who is always being kind to others, putting smiles on everyone's faces at the gym and helping others whenever and however they can. If you can't afford to help out financially please push this out to as many people as you can in hopes to ease the financial stressors and allow everyone to focus on LaJuanna's recovery. I will try to post any significant updates from Robert as he shares them!
