<div>You might know Jess Huang as Celeste Pewter—the tireless educator on how our political process works and how we can best use our voices as citizens.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It's time to send her to Washington, DC. To do this, though, Jess needs some help. She has quite a bit of medical debt, as many Americans do. (64 percent of bankruptcies—most of which are to people with insurance, come from medical crises.)
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To complicate matters, she has endured an extremely difficult living situation that cannot be resolved without this major life change. I'm lending my support and voice here because I have witnessed these particular challenges.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is a way for us to thank Jess for all of the work she's done, completely voluntarily, to support our democracy and to start her over where she is most needed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>UPDATE: Jess was involved in a domestic violence case. The increased fundraising goal will help cover related costs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The funding will cover the cost of moving:
</div>
<ul>
<li>ending her lease
</li>
<li>funds to find a new apartment in DC
</li>
<li>cross-country travel
</li>
</ul>
