My name is Divon Beards, and I have been playing volleyball for almost four years now. (Also why the before and after picture is there… it’s pretty atrocious). My twin sister is the one on the left in the before photo, but she stop playing. I started playing volleyball because of this show I watched the summer before 6th grade year, I won't mention the name though. (just a bit embarrassing.. but it's apart of the story!). I love volleyball. I play defense (usually libero) and recently my position shifted a bit to setter. Honestly, I just love being on the court. Volleyball is hard work and super time consuming, but it’s all worth it in the end. This year, (Freshmen year of high-school) is my first year playing club, and let me tell you it is expensive! Thankfully , this year I have an amazing opportunity to play club due to the wonderful family, coaches, and community who could help out with that. However, other things such as travel costs are still super expensive and although my family supports me through thick and thin, it’s hard getting all this money saved up to play the sport I love. This is why you are reading this, to help me and my family raise money needed, even if it’s just a little bit, to help me play the sport I love in places I’ve never been and want to go.
