Bach to Bach to Bach

Tax deductible
We are The Glass Menagerie, a long-established community chorus based in downtown Manhattan. For more than 30 years we've been sharing our joy in music-making through modestly priced concerts at beautiful and welcoming Manhattan venues. We're going for Baroque this holiday season with Bach to Bach to Bach, a unique concert featuring works by the great Johann Sebastian Bach, his son Carl Phillip Emanuel Bach, and the contemporary musical satirist P.D.Q. Bach. We'll be joined by four fabulous vocal soloists and a Baroque chamber ensemble at Manhattan's historic Church of the Holy Apostles.

It's a thrill to join forces with professional vocal soloists and a chamber ensemble to bring JSB, CPE, and PDQ to our community, but it's costly too! Dues, grants, and ticket sales will cover only a portion of this concert's expenses. That’s why we’re asking for your help. We need your generous, tax-deductible donations to make Bach to Bach to Bach possible.

Our goal is $4,000, and every contribution will help get us there. We welcome gifts at every level, whether it’s $10 or ten times that amount. Please help meet our goal – and tell your friends! Every little bit counts.

No donation is too small. And even if you can’t support us financially, please come to our concert! It’s going to be a joyous evening and we’d love to see you in the audience. Bring your friends and spread the word!

About our chorus:

The Glass Menagerie Chorus has been making music together in Greenwich Village since 1984. Our choristers come from throughout the New York metropolitan area and from every walk of life. We welcomes enthusiastic amateurs as well as professional music educators and performers.

Our Director, Dr. Susan Glass, is a member of NYU’s Music Education Faculty and a noted music educator. She founded The Glass Menagerie Chorus in 1984 with a group of eight parents and teachers from the Little Red School House. From this modest beginning, the chorus has grown in numbers, repertoire, and musical accomplishment. Performances have highlighted masterworks from the past, music from folk and vernacular traditions, as well as the work of living composers, including new pieces commissioned by the Glass Menagerie Chorus.

The Glass Menagerie Chorus' 2017 Concert Series is made possible in part with public funds from Creative Engagement, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
