Baby Yoder (Freya Lynn)

After 3 heartbreaking years of infertility treatments, IVF, and the loss of an ectopic pregnancy Jenny and Lohn Yoder were finally expecting their first child! At 7 weeks they discovered they were having twins! Unfortunately it was soon clear that one of the babies would not make it. The loss of a twin was devastating, but Jenny and Lohn stayed positive and were thrilled they had a healthy baby to come.

At 18 weeks Baby Yoder was diagnosed with an early onset Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). The development of Baby Yoder's heart and lungs were at risk and extensive monitoring and testing was needed throughout the pregnancy. 

On August 10, 2016 Freya Lynn Yoder was born! She had surgery on August 22nd and is on her road to recovery! During surgery it was discovered that she only had 50% of her diaphragm. Also not only her stomach was in her chest cavity, but also her intestines, kidney, spleen, colon, and liver! Her lungs did not fully develop and her heart is working really hard to make up for the issues.
