Baby Tristian Needs Your Help

Our story is one of strength and hope. CHD (Coranary Heart Disease) affects not only the strength of a heart, but also the strength of a family.
My son was born January 20th, 2016. He is the most beautiful, wonderful baby I could have ever hoped for. When I heard him cry for the first time it brought tears to my eyes and filled my heart with joy. That joy was short lived. Moments after his arrival I knew something was wrong. I only got to hold my son in my arms for what felt like just a few seconds before he was taken from me. I had no clue what was going on, and was informed he was being taken to ICU for close monitoring. He had no color and oxygen was not being properly circulated through his body. He was transported to Loma Linda Childrens Hospital the same day. Tristian has a heart defect that was not detected throughout my pregnancy. I couldnt help but blame myself, maybe if I had a better insurance plan and could go to a better doctor we would have been prepared for this. My son was born with TGA (Transposition of the Great Arteries.) Meaning the main arteries in his heart were switched around. He had to have the surgery to correct the arteries or he wouldnt live longer than a few more days. After that surgery, we got to go home. We were there less 5 days before he started to have seizures. The surgery didnt work, and he will need a whole new heart. We have been here for 3 months and my son has gone through 3 surgeries, countless medications, and 2 very close calls. He has gone days without eating because his heart simply cant handle it. We are status 1A on the waiting list for a new heart. Every day the risk of losing my son becomes more and more real. Some days are better than others, but his doctors say Tristians body may not be able to handle one more downfall. I will continue to keep faith that he will get a heart soon, but until then I am asking for your help and prayers. It is not easy being away from home, and the medical expenses are starting to pile up despite the  help Loma Linda gives. Every penny counts for my son, and for him to continue recieving the best care possible. If you are not in a place to donate, please share his story. My son and I thank you.

I will be posting updates on baby Tristian as much as possible.
