I recently heard of a distant relative who needed some help. Beautiful Victoria has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type I, a hereditary disease that causes weakness and wasting of the muscles in the arms and legs. Physical impairment is a condition of this disease but cognitive development and intelligence can be faster and higher than kids of the same age. The financial, physical and emotional toll of this disease on any family is immense! There is no cure so babies live a difficult life for about 4 months to two years at which they pass. Tori surpassed her doctors' expectations when she turned 1 on November 23, 2013.
Since Tori's parents must work full time to manage absolute necessities, I want to help in a way some may consider a luxury vs. a necessity. Tori is limited in movement and must be flat on her back at all times. A music therapy session provides bright joy and distraction in Tori's challenging day - 4 sessions cost about $500. I would like to raise money for special toys for Tori and for music therapy sessions. (Please see video.) I'd love to help Tori have the best quality of life possible. If she can enjoy moments in each day and make it to age two or beyond, it will be a blessing and a priceless gift all round.
Thank you so much for visiting this page. I hope that you can be able to contribute and help improve Baby Tori's quality of life.
