Baby Ruth - Neurosurgery in the USA
Ruth had surgery on March 13, 2018 in Miami, after obtaining passports and medical visas in Haiti to get her this life-saving surgery.
As most of you know, I met Ruth and mom and her family through my work in Haiti, where I have lived and worked for almost 6 years. They were enrolled in our medical program for referral to surgery which ultimately could only be performed in the United States.
She will spend 6 weeks at a minimum in the USA, and funds raised on this campaign will cover the costs to obtain those travel documents and to support Ruth and her mother's stay in the United States. More so, additional funds are being used for travel for volunteers to be with her in the US and to take her back to Haiti.
She will require additional follow up visits in the USA, requiring additional air travel and travel within Haiti in order to do so.
Funds currently are going directly in to my personal account in the US, from which I am paying costs associated with the entire process from passports to medical visas, to travel, and to costs associated with following her care.
Once those costs are met, additional funds will be withdrawn in Haiti and delivered to her mother Guercie by me in person in Haiti, where I live full time in the same town as Ruth and her family.
