Baby Lanpher and Family

Donation protected

At their first ultrasound, Baby Girl Lanpher's right kidney was showing a multicystic dysplastic kidney. That basically means there was a problem with the way the cells lined up when the kidney was formed, so it doesn't function properly. In most circumstances, a baby with this does fine with only one kidney and lives a relatively normal, healthy life. However, Baby Lanpher's left kidney wasn't working properly either. Her left kidney was measuring very small and was echogenic. It wasn't producing enough urine and that was leading to low amniotic fluid. That in turn may effect Baby Lanpher's lung development and other areas as well. They have been monitoring the amniotic fluid weekly, which has steadily decreased.

Today's ultrasound showed no fluid left. She is 31 weeks and has been sent down to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. They are going to try and keep her pregnant as long as possible before they need to deliver.

The prognosis for after birth is still very unknown but most likely she will have some type of kidney problem when she is born and they may need to discuss dialysis or a kidney transplant. Lung and other health concerns are possible but unknown at this point.

Noelle is no longer working due to the stress during her pregnancy. They live in Fargo, ND where Gordon works full-time but will be delivering Baby Lanpher in Minneapolis. As you can imagine, the timeline of their stay in Minneapolis and extent of travel is very uncertain. Their 2 year old daughter, Megan, is typically at home or at work with Noelle. However, with Baby Lanpher in the NICU at Children's, Megan is only allowed to visit once or twice a week. The uncertainty of what life will look like and the variety of needs they will encounter are unknown. So any donation to their gofundme account may assist them with things such as medical bills, rent, travel, time away from work, potential childcare for Megan, etc.

Your donation will help Noelle and Gordon focus on the needs of their daughters and spend time as a family without other concerns. Please also join us in lifting them in prayer. They thank you from the bottom of their hearts for your willingness to come alongside them during the time. God Bless.
