That time; when you witnessed an amazing woman spend the last few months of her daughter’s pregnancy on pins and needles awaiting the arrival of her grandbaby; knowing that there were complications. That time when you clicked refresh on Facebook, or received an email, or noticed you had a text; and the message said “baby Eva’s little body couldn’t fight any longer.” That moment, when you tried to answer your friend, co-worker, mentor, employee, teacher, advisor when they asked you; how am I supposed to fix this? That time; when you realized there may be something you can do to help!

Cathy Slagle, a teacher, mentor, friend, advisor, employee, co-worker at Ben Barber Career Tech Academy recently suffered the tragic loss of her granddaughter Eva Rose Felan; who died from complications of Hydrocephalus. Baby Eva was one day old. She left this earth on her mother’s (Cathy’s daughter) birthday; the day after what will always be known as the first mother’s day. In an effort to lessen some of the burden of the medical costs associated with the fight for baby Eva’s life; we are collecting funds to contribute to the mounting level of debt.
