Baby Ellie McDonnell

In July we were thrilled to hear that our good friends, Ryan & Camille, were expecting their second child!  Unfortunately, Camille’s pregnancy has been filled with many challenges and health scares. Camille was diagnosed with a subchoronic hemorrhage in August at 10 weeks pregnant. Throughout the pregnancy they did not know if they would be able to meet their Baby Ellie this side of heaven. At 15 weeks, they were told that there was a high likelihood of losing Ellie and to prepare for the worst. Camille was put on bedrest very early in her pregnancy. At 22 weeks, Camille’s water broke. She was admitted to Trinity in Bettendorf. At 23 weeks she was transferred to University of Iowa Hospital. She stayed at U of I Hospital for several weeks with constant fear of losing Ellie. She had lost a lot of blood and had to have a blood transfusion. Through all the complications, they have been positive and continued to fight for their sweet baby girl.  On December 16th, Baby Ellie arrived. Camille had an Emergency C-Section at 27 weeks. Ellie weighed 2 lbs 5 oz and is now in the NICU. She has a broken left leg from delivery. She also is hooked up to a ventilator and they are running multiple tests on her. She has long road ahead of her. Camille has been discharged from the hospital. She and Ryan are now staying at the Ronald McDonald House.  With all the complications and staying for several weeks at the hospital, they have acquired a large amount of expenses as a result. Ellie will be in the NICU for several months. Ryan works for the Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department as a Fire Inspector and Camille works for the Bettendorf School District as a 4th grade teacher.  With all the hospital trips and Camille’s bed rest they have not been able to work for some time. Camille is starting leave without pay and will be staying with Ellie until she can come home safely. Ryan will be heading back to work soon and will be making multiple trips a week back and forth from the Quad Cities. During all of this they have had their 3 year old son Johnny at home with his grandparents. If you know Ryan and Camille, you know being away from Johnny is one of the hardest parts of all of this. Would you please consider donating to this amazing couple?  They deserve every penny! Please also continue to pray for the entire McDonnell family! Thank you!
