On December 27th Eliana Marshall entered the world via C-section. We praise God for preserving Eliana's life as she was diagnosed in utero with an opening in her spine ( spina bifida) hydracephaly ( spinal fluid on the brain) club feet, etc. Her prognosis was grim, possibly not compatible with life, and yet God...
Baby Eliana had major surgery within 24 hrs of birth to repair the lesion on her spine and also to place a shunt in her head to relieve the hydrocephalus. The doctors are watching her closely as she recovers from her birth and surgeries and are just beginning to assess her abilities. Katherine is recovering from the birth as well and is anxious to hold and care for her baby.
We plead with God and hope for the best case scenario for Eliana. Her needs will still be overwhelming for some time yet.
Having a baby in NICU can be financially devasting. How can we, as the body of Christ, help the Marshall family? This is a family that has embraced life, even when it is uncomfortable and fears are magnified. This is a family that has trusted God even when every diagnosis and predicted outcome spoke of tragedy and difficulty. They need much prayer- for strength, for the ability to take every thought captive, for endurance. Eliana’s needs are such that will not be fully relieved with this recent surgery- on the contrary, she is facing years of appointments, therapies, surgeries, etc. These things take time/energy and gas. She may need braces and wheelchairs. The hospital is 45 minutes away and the gas of multiple trips can easily add up.
We ask that you consider sacrificially supporting this dear family who needs us to be the Hands and feet of Jesus like never before.
