Baby DeArmond

My name is Austin DeArmond and I'm married to my lovely wife, Valerie DeArmond. I'm a local pastor in St. Rose, LA at St Rose Community Church as well as a middle school history teacher and campus pastor at Crescent City Christian School. My wife is a teacher's aide for Kindergarten at the same school. As many of you know, Valerie and I have been praying and trying for a baby for over a year now. We have been open to children any way the Lord seemed wise to provide. Recently we were approached with a wonderful opportunity to adopt a little girl. The story behind how all this came about really is amazing! It began decades ago with my Mom and Uncle Stevie. When my mom and Stevie were younger, they ran together in a circle of friends. My uncle dated his high school sweetheart only to see the relationship fade when she moved away. Many years down the line, my uncle would rekindle that relationship and marry his sweetheart, my aunt Laura. My aunt recently was contacted by a family member asking if she knew of a good home for a sweet, baby girl who would arrive in early March. She had no idea that we were longing for a child. My aunt reached out to my mom who then reached out to us. The day before I found out about the possibility of adoption, I approached my superintendant (who happens to run a crisis pregnancy center) at Crescent City Christian School letting him know we would gladly take a child if their life was on the line. Little did we know, God was orchestrating an adoption then behind the scenes. We immediately jumped at the opportunity to adopt. There are so many moving pieces and parts to this story that began decades ago before we were ever even a thought. We truly believe God’s hand is at work in this whole process. I’m reminded of the words of my former mentor, “God is never blindsided because our God doesn’t have a blindside. He knows exactly where you are, He knows exactly what you are going through, He knows exactly what He is doing.” All we have to do is trust Him.

One daunting aspect of this adoption is the cost. We are asking family, friends, coworkers, and businesses for help. We truly believe God will provide and we want to allow others the chance to be included in this plan. If you feel led to support us, we would greatly appreciate any help you can give. All donations will go to cover adoption fees, attorney fees, courts costs, travel expenses, and home study costs. Our precious baby girl is due March 10th.
