As we all recover from the devestation caused by Hurricane Harvey, things are a little bit easier to cope with knowing that our loved ones are safe, that is not the case for Torian Jones & Mercades Williams. As they were headed to Torian's parents home in New Iberia to seek refuge from the storm, their truck was carried off of the highway in rushing flood waters forcing them into a treetop above 40 feet of water. While trying to escape the raging storm waters their beautiful 3 month old baby girl, Ziya Imani Jones, was swept away from their arms in the swift, fierce current. First responders are still out searching for her.
As you can imagine this has been an overwhelming experience for this young couple. Both Torian and Mercades are sweet, humble souls who would give a stranger the shoes off of their feet, and this tragedy has ripped their hearts to pieces. Ziya was their only child, their world, and they would do anything for her!! This young family was in the process of creating a new start in Atlanta as Torian had just received a job offer there. Now all of their hopes and dreams have been destroyed by this devastating storm!
This entire family is very humble and have always been there to give a helping hand to anyone that needs it. Now is the time for the gesture to be returned. If you can find it in your heart to donate anything to assist withe relief & recovery efforts if would be greatly appreciated.
