Baby Xander’s Hospital Stay

*UPDATE* We are so happy to be home as a family of four! Thank you so much for all of your prayers, help, support, meals, donations, encouragement, and more. Now it’s time to bond with baby and to heal. I’m so thankful for the doctors and NICU team at Hillcrest for taking care of our boy. Thank you to our prayer warriors for lifting us up, I’ll always wonder what may have be intervened. Love y’all so much.

*UPDATE* Xander has been consistently able to take bottles since yesterday (9/28) and his blood cultures came back negative 

so he was able to get off antibiotics and fluids! 

Hi, my name is Sydni and I’m hoping this can help our family through these unforeseen circumstances.

Our newborn son Xander is staying in the NICU for an unknown duration, my husband’s paid vacation time is quickly coming to an end, and now I’m starting to think about how the bills don’t stop. Anything to help us supplement our single person income and remain as close to the hospital as we can, and then to hopefully transition into settling into home life is what I’m praying for. I’ve never set anything like this up nor have I ever anticipated even thinking about doing so.

As far as Xander, he is primarily not able to eat on his own, but he is showing slow improvements. This is due to him being incapable of maintaining his breathing and being in too high a range with those numbers for bottle or breast feeding without the risk of aspirating. There are a handful of tests we are waiting on results for as well.

So far we do not know what we will qualify for as far as medical expense relief, but we do know that bills don’t stop at home. Anything you could do to help our family is a greater gift than you could even realize, even if it’s just sharing our story.
