LittleToby, aka 'Baby Bear,' was born two months premature on November 20, 2017 at 11:05 PM. Before being born, Toby was diagnosed with Complete Atrioventricular Septal Defect which means he has holes and a leaky valve in his heart. Little Toby was unexpectedly born via C-Section due to a build up of fluid in his lungs. In order to heal fully, Toby needs surgery on his heart but is too small for surgeons to safely operate on him. Ideally, his surgery should be approximately around July 2018. He is currently in the NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit) fighting to keep his little heart and lungs strong. Essentially what is keeping him alive right now to grow stronger is a ventilator which is mechanically breathing for him while his lungs strengthen and drain of fluids.
Amidst the unexpected amount of suprises and hardships this entails, Rob and Jenna Crenshaw, Toby's parents, have been trusting in the Lord throughout this season.
Right now Toby is in the Childern's hospital in Denver, CO, but his family lives in Colorado Springs. With driving over 60 miles a day to visit their son and Rob having to take time off work (of two jobs), they are not letting that get in the way of them being with their son every step of the way.
With Toby's current health state, he will be in the hospital for a long time. This means that the cost of gas, possible lodging, loss of income with taking time off work, providing for their five-year old and Jenna's mother, and the ever increasing hospital bills, Jenna and Rob would be blessed not only by your prayers, but also by the gift of helping them out financially.
We first would like to ask you to pray for little Toby. Pray for healing on his heart, strengthening of his lungs, and a layer of protection over his whole body in this fragile stage.
Secondly, pray about giving financially to help cover the cost of the expenses above.
Through all this, the Lord is good. Rob and Jenna are contstantly encouraged by your prayers, support, and by the grace of God. Even though this was completely unexpected, God is bigger than this and will ultimatley be glorified no matter what.
