MY HEART BEATS

This is my grandson, Tiago.  Please say a prayer for this precious baby boy. Tiago is the youngest of 5 kids and is going to be a big brother in April.
Tiago’s mommy is a teacher at Judson High School, and his daddy works at the Schertz YMCA. Tiago’s  family is a God loving family who cherishes life and lives each day thru faith and love.

A few years ago, Tiago’s parents adopted two kids and believed their family was
complete. God had other plans. On the 25 of January,  2020, we were blessed
with the birth of Tiago. This 11 month
old baby boy has brought nothing but pure joy and laughter to all those around him.

MY HEART BREAKING

A few weeks before Christmas Tiago’s left lower jaw started to swell.

Within a few hours it looked and felt like he had a golf ball under his jawline. Tiago was admitted in at the North Central Children’s hospital. He had scans, labs and was given antibiotics and steroids thru his IV. The doctors saw that the swelling was subsiding and decided to send Tiago home to continue his treatments orally. They felt COVID was a threat they didn’t want for Tiago or his high risk pregnant mommy. We all prayed he would continue to show improvement at home. Tiago did great until early this morning. The swelling has come back even larger than it’s original golf ball size. We were praying to avoid surgery or the need for a biopsy; unfortunately, it isn’t looking good right now.

MY HEART PRAYS

I prayer to have my grandson home healthy, safe and in my arms. I pray for my daughter to stay safe at the hospital with her pregnancy and the threat of COVID. I pray for my daughter and my son-in-law  to not have the burden of the medical financial cost connected to this nightmare.

I am a teacher, my husband is a retired disabled veteran and I am the caretaker forTiago’s great grandparents  I am not working this year so I can take care of my grandkids and my parents during the pandemic. We are helping in every way possible. Anyone who knows me, knows I am a giver, and I would never ask for help unless it was desperately needed.

This heartbreaking event has caused us to have to reach out to our family, friends and community for help. The hospital bills are starting to arrive. The initial bill for the first 24 hours at the hospital is a shocking $5000. Tiago was in the hospital 5 days the first time, before Christmas. We have no clue how long he will be there this time. Surgery and a biopsy look inevitable. My daughter and her husband have insurance, but apparently it does not cover everything. At this rate, my daughter and her husband will owe an astonishing amount. The hospital Tiago is at is the same place his little brother will be born in April 2021. The hospital made it clear the bill must be paid as soon as possible.

We appreciate any small contribution you can make. Even more so, we are grateful for any moments of prayer you can send our way. Thank you for allowing me to share our story with you.

May God keep you safe and bless you.
