Baby Samuel's Medical Fund

Samuel is the third child and only son of Joseph and Grace. He was born to this happy family on the 27th of March 2017, but less than 24hrs after birth, seemed all odds of life were against him as he came down with high fever later diagnosed to be neonatal sepsis. However, his resilience for life was evident in his amazing strength and appetite for food throughout his one week admission in the hospital. A couple of weeks after discharge, some signs prompted his pediatrician to refer him for some additional tests and to his family's dismay, the report came that he had a complex form of congenital heart defect which has the features of Tricuspid atresia with pulmonary stenosis, a condition which requires very delicate series of surgery which cannot be obtained in his country of Nigeria. The tests were repeated 3 times in federal hospitals and results were the same.

The estimated sum for the first step surgery at India is at 3 million Naira (~$10,000 USD) and should be done within his first few months of life for him to live. He is now 3 months old and through it all, his amazing resilience still stands out in his demanding appetite (unusual for his condition), his calm and jovial nature and contagious smiles. The only physical clue to the heart condition he is battling with is his heavy sweating from his entire body  even under cold whether which practically drenches his clothes, especially during or after feeding.

Sam is battling to live. His Sisters pray for him daily, his family is not giving up on him and as his Mum, I can't take my eyes off his smiling face as I assure him that he will be fine by God's Grace. But we need your support to help him undergo surgery soonest to overcome this condition. Our family savings can barely do much and time is short. May God bless you as you respond.
