Baby Rory's Little Heart - CHD

Aaron, Laci and Cora are expecting their first baby boy/baby brother, Rory James, in early July.  At a routine ultrasound it was found that baby Rory has hypoplastic right heart syndrome caused by pulmonary atresia intact ventrical septum. Basically Rory's right heart that is meant to feed his lungs is not functioning properly and is not developing. While Rory is still growing inside, he will continue to get bigger and stronger like a "normal" baby, or at least we hope. Unfortunately when he is born and takes his first breath his struggles will begin. Rory will require his first open heart surgery in the first week of his life and will need two more open heart surgeries in the first couple years of his life to fix all the problems. While Rory's mother and father have A LOT going on now with special appointments almost weekly and having to change plans to now deliver at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI., they have been hard at work trying to plan for Rory's arrival. This is a family who gives and gives to family, friends and the communities without ever asking for anything in return. The only thing they ask for are prayers that baby Rory comes out strong and everything goes accordingly to help him live a long enjoyable life. Although this is all they ask for, we all know what kind of stress comes from having to worry about medical bills. In this case, from the delivery to open heart surgeries and the extensive room and board I think it's safe to assume it's going to be a pretty penny. I believe every single penny in this great big world is worth it if it is going towards trying to save a babies life! This baby just so happens to be my nephew:) I believe in miracles, do you?
