Britt and Will are expecting their first baby in August, 2018!

Unfortunately at their 20 week anatomy scan doctors noticed that their little boys heart has not developed properly. A cardio specialist confirmed that baby’s heart has an almost little to no functioning left ventricle, forcing the right hand side to do all the work, pumping blood to the brain, lungs and rest of the body. There are further complications where the aorta and other veins are significantly smaller than what they need to be, causing quite a complex and severe situation. The overall condition is called Hyperplastic Left Heart Syndrome, with multiple other complications included.

Although this is such difficult news to hear, they are so grateful that the doctors were able to notice it when they did, so that all the necessary measures can be taken to do whatever can be done to help their son.

Due to the severity of the baby’s heart, multiple open heart surgeries will need to be performed over the first few years of his life.

Unfortunately there are no specialists in Perth able to do the first two very delicate surgeries. Britt and Will have been advised they will need to move to Brisbane for around 6 months, where Britt will give birth and be in the right place for the amazing specialists to perform these first two surgeries.

Any amount of money you give to this fund will be a huge blessing to Britt and Will. They will not be able to work for around 6 months and the money will go towards living expenses and any other costs that may arise.

Britt and Will have been told they are to fly over to Brisbane some time in July.
