Baby O'Donnell Medical Fund

Ingrid O’Donnell (Johansen) and her husband, Jesse O’Donnell, are overjoyed to be expecting their first child.   Ingrid and her husband received the news that no expectant parent wants to hear.  There are complications.  Their baby has a heart defect called, "Unbalanced Atrioventricular Septal Defect."

Their baby girl will need at least 2 major heart surgeries and possibly up to 3 or 4 more. The surgeries have had a good success rate but it is still very serious.  So far, it looks like the surgeries will take place at the IWK Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Ingrid will need to stay in Halifax for at least one month before Baby O’Donnell is born and an undetermined length of time after(she was told a minimum of an additional month post baby).  They are now in the process of looking for inexpensive accommodations for their required stay in Halifax. This does not include the many future trips between Fredericton and Halifax that will be required for ongoing care. 

We are looking for support to help ease the financial worries for Ingrid and Jesse.  This will allow these devoted new parents to focus their energy on taking care of their little girl.
