When I met my husband Mitch we were in high school, and have been together ever since. I’m happy to say that I’ve had the privilege of marrying my high school sweetheart as well as my best friend. Shortly after we were married, we looked forward to the next step of our journey together, starting our family. Never in our wildest dreams did we think we would be faced with challenges in fertility. We immediately began to take action. Our first step was meeting with fertility specialists and informing them that we wanted to be as aggressive as possible. Fingers crossed we began our fertility journey. Along the way, we discussed different treatment options, willing to try all that were available to us. Going through many different rounds of treatment, including four rounds of Clomid, two rounds of IUI, and two rounds of IVF, was physically, emotionally, and mentally challenging. In addition to these treatments I then faced surgeries and many, many tests. All were unsuccessful. Mitch and I stood united, yet truly devastated with the realization that having a family naturally was not going to be an option, not going to be our option. Together we knew that adoption could be our next step in pursuing our dream.
After deciding that adoption was going to be our path to starting a family, we began to research our options. After many months of investigating the adoption process, we chose to adopt through Adoption by Gentle Care out of Columbus. We are delighted to know that an infant from the state of Ohio will hopefully soon be joining our family. We were given an estimated cost of 38K-40K to complete the adoption. Although this process will be costly, nothing is more valuable than our family. We realize the challenges we face ahead in funding our adoption. Because we exhausted most of our resources and funds trying to conceive through fertility treatments, we are asking for your help. In any way you can lend us your support we will be forever grateful. Words cannot express our thankfulness to have the support, encouragement, and love from our friends and family throughout this time. Thank you all for your willingness to come alongside us and your continued generosity. Mitch and I are awaiting the day with eagerness and joy when at last we get to meet our little one and become our family of three...
