<div>Hi everyone, I wanted to start this off by saying thank you we want everyone to know that we don’t for one second take for granted one donation or show of support that we have received over this last year. Many of the donations we received came in at the beginning of this fundraiser .I created this fundraiser shortly after my son was born at 25 weeks and my wife suffered, severe complications, post delivery, resulting in heart failure, and a hysterectomy, I was struggling trying to carry two households for my children at home and myself at the hospital, where we had to stay, myself and my wife, for over six months! I was  trying to help my wife recover from her heart failure, who was in a wheelchair and struggling to do any of the things that she used to, and trying to care for Mathias in the NICU. Not only did we have nothing for the baby as my wife was hospitalized a month before she delivered for her water breaking at 22 weeks, so there was no time for a baby shower, or any preparation whatsoever and we were also struggling with our household bills, child care, travel to and from to see the children who are three hours away from the hospital. We were also here during the holidays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and several birthdays so we were struggling just to see the children for the holidays. Not to mention that my wife had no clothing because of the weight she had lost during her hospital stay when I say that the list of expenses goes on I can’t even begin to tell you how many there were, and all with no income coming in at the time and our savings was depleted very shortly after entering the hospital trying to carry both families flying family from out of town to come in to help with the children in our home and animals, etc.. we can’t thank those who showed us support at the beginning enough as we would not have survived any of this without it we will remember those people for the rest of our lives, and tell our son Matthias about it for years to come! unfortunately, our struggles didn’t end when we returned home from the hospital, although we very much prayed and wished that they would have sadly we were struggling to get my wife’s disability going and then running out, struggling for me to be able to work due to caring for my wife and Matthias, struggling with vehicle issues, monthly bills, bills we didnt know about until coming home. Frequent appointments requiring overnight stays over 200 miles away and just so many things!  I returned to work shortly after coming home but losing my wife’s income which was over half of our income! My income it’s just not enough and despite my best efforts we have been sinking. I can’t thank our supporters enough who have stuck by us over  this last year! it is truly been a roller coaster ride and honestly quite a nightmare of which I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.. when I started to realize we were close to this holiday season, and knew that I was not in the financial position to to give my family a nice holiday season, or even close to the holiday that I believe that they deserve!  not to mention just to keep our electric going and water on. I’m struggling I’m with PGE and constant different information each time I call, and not getting calls back… currently our local agency that assists with utilities is out of funding so I’m trying to get through the remainder of this year in hopes I can get assistance come January! I didn’t know what to do.. I didn’t feel that it would be honest to create a new go fund me so I decided to post using this one and hope that people would still want to donate and show their support. Despite the amazing amount of generosity we were shown at the beginning of last year and when many of our struggles began. My children have sacrificed so much over this last year and all I want is for them to wake up Christmas morning with smiles on their face!  so I have tried to create a budget of which we have $1800 of $4400 most of which will go to our power and water bill and a small amount of $50 to each child to get them a pair of pajamas a winter outfit and a small gift from mom and dad. It’s not easy having to come on here and ask for help knowing that many people are passing judgment for the fact that I am not able to provide for my family and that I’m having to post this fundraiser at all. I know that in my heart, and in gods eyes that I am doing everything I can for my family from working 40 to 50 hours a week to doing any side jobs I can to bring an extra money to caring for my wife and son and children and giving them everything I have, which is all that I can do. I also know that we don’t take one donation or share or prayer for granted over this last year I know that our situation would be much more dyer and if it wasn’t for the support we were shown, we would probably have nothing. That being said, I am still struggling despite all of that generosity to pay my monthly bills save my home and give my kids a a nice holiday season. So I am humbly and graciously, turning to my friends family and loved ones community and strangers like in hopes that they may still want send their thoughts and prayers to my family, this holiday season, and help us through these continued struggles. Again, I’ll never be able to thank you all enough, and please know how forever grateful we are. I truly wish we were in a different situation, and that the donations have been enough to save us from our financial struggles that we are still facing again without them. We would be so much worse off, and while we have a lot that we are struggling with we have a lot to be thankful for, unfortunately Matthias is still struggling with breathing issues, much of which began when the cold weather came and have been requiring him frequent nebulizer treatments, and then he sleepless nights to make sure that he’s breathing OK. We also have several appointments coming up this month, both of which are cardiology appointment for my wife and Matthias, as well as a neurodevelopment for Matthias. He doesn’t handle long trips well, so unfortunately, we typically have to stay over for his appointment, especially if we have to spend a long amount of time during the day.  sadly, the financial struggles and stress have also taken a toll on my wife and her heart issues, and she has been struggling with several symptoms which we are hoping are not severe and will not reflect or keep her from being able to return to work as we are trying to move forward and do anything we can to get ourselves in a better financial position and her being able to return to work would be the biggest one, so please pray that she is able to. I can’t thank you enough, and I hope that everyone has an amazingly wonderful and joyful holiday season filled with love, family and peace. So currently we need $2600 left to be able to cover what I am short on utilities and get each of my kiddos a small gift from mom and dad and pair of pjs for Christmas Eve (a family tradition) I ask you humbly and graciously for your continued support and donation if able and hope that you have a very blessed day God Bless Happy Holidays  and thank you! <div>Updated: Hi my name is Rick Jenkins, my wife and I got some surprising but amazing news a few months ago we were pregnant Everything was going good until October 21st, when our whole world would change in the matter of minutes. My wife’s water broke at 22weeks pregnant, she helicoptered from our local hospital to a hospital 3hrs away that was better equipped to handle this. I left my house drove to the hospital where we sat for 22days… Then my wife went into labor and gave birth to our son at 1lb 13oz’s he was so beautiful they took him to the NICU as a strong 25week 3 day old micro premie… Then my whole world was turned upside down, everything I knew was taken from me in a matter of seconds! My wife began hemorrhaging and they rushed her to the OR they told me it was ok they should be done in about 30min they left I waited… After 30min…. 1hr… 2hrs…. I knew in my soul something was really wrong… Finally a new dr I hadn’t seen before came out and said Mr Jenkins, your wife had severe complications she is currently in critical condition in cardio thoracic ICU! Her heart is failing and we don’t know why or if it will recover! So now I had a premature baby in the NIcU and my wife in The CTICU! My world was crashing! My wife fought and fought and fought to get herself back to me and her kids and our new lil boy Mathias! They reluctantly released her to a room near the hospital… my wife has a long road ahead of her and life is forever changed but she’s here. So now I’m caring for my wife and her appts trying to help her recover and stay strong for our new baby boy. Now we are home and a whole new set of struggles, from trying to manage our home on a single income with increased expenses, trying to manage travel to Mathias and moms doctors (300 mile each way) medical supplies for baby boy and just baby items as mom never got have a baby shower due to these circumstances we still need many items (6-9month clothing, baby scale, rocking chair and many other items) his health struggles and Moms, vehicle problems (due to crazy amount of mileage we have put on it and have had over $4500 in repairs and it’s still having issues) and our newest struggle a $20,000 hospital bill we were not expecting! (We were told our insurance Mathias hospital stay) Our Savings was depleted the first month staying at the hospital, trying to carry us so far from home (spent six months at hospital with wife and baby) and my kids and family at home and care for them (had to pay for family and friends to come from out of state to assist with kids and watching home and pets) I’m working so hard trying to get caught up as the help we have received this far got us through February (Household bills, holidays, our living expenses at the hospital child care, baby necessities, auto repair, medical appt travel expenses) but we still had two months of household bills before I was able to return to work and start seeing any money coming in.. My employer has been amazing, but still my hours are not what they were, between appointments and caring for baby and wife and my kids and Keeping our home a float! I’m trying to find a second job but very unsure how I can pull that off with demands of my family and Mathias medical needs which he’s needing more care more often as he grows (physical and speech therapies) My wife is struggling but working so hard to gain her independence again, but she struggles daily! I’m so hopeful as I know god has been with us through this whole ordeal and I know with him anything is possible! so I have to have faith and keep working hard and I will get financially stable and independent again! Things will get easier. Seeing this new $20,000 hospital bill my heart sank! Baby’s oxygen supplies, My wife’s medical needs and supplies, my kids and their school and needs, household expenses (I’ll work day and night if it helps my family and I’m able to without neglecting medical needs of Mathias and my wife) we had a nice nest egg for when the baby came we had been saving, gone in the blink of an eye and we still needed everything baby! I know god worked miracles with my wife and son and I couldn’t be more thankful! I truly hope If anything outr story touches someone to have faith in our father and prayer! I hate asking for help, I’m the last person to ever ask a stranger or a friend or family even for help, so this has been the hardest part of this, but with the support and guidance of my family and friends I’m doing just that! <div>This last year has been so hard on our family! we have been struggling to get through each month and keep our basics l I’ll like electric and water going! Now the holidays are here and we can’t afford a holiday meal or tree much less gifts for our kids! We are trying our best to keep or basics going and give our kids least a small holiday and nice meal! We considered creating a new go fund me for this but honestly didn’t feel like that was right! We hope to still find supporters who would like donate as many of our donations were given during our hospital stay to help us keep our family going and then some have been given to help us through these past months and our many struggles of trying stay afloat and catch up from falling so behind! We still are trying to get by on 1/3 our income with my wife still recovering from heart failure and her health resulting from the severe complications during child birth! Mathias is doing better but on supportive oxygen as well as nebulizer and we still have several medical appointments monthly requiring almost 500 miles round trip plus lodging as Mathias doesn’t handle the long car rides well! We have also been struggling with sky rocketing high Electric bills from use of medical machines and rising rates, as well as struggles up stay on the programs to help assist with the high costs! Between that and just basic household bills and cost of raising a family and my wife’s disability running out after waiting so long to get it felt like we only got a very it for a very short time! While it did help a great deal it ran out last month and much too quickly to make much of a difference! So now we are just trying ti get through the holidays and give our kids a little joy this season. So we currently need about $2400 to give each of our children a very cheap pair of pajamas for Christmas Eve, an outfit and a small gift they ask for ($50 each child not sure we can get All that for $50 but at we C we going on to try) are humbly asking again for your kindness and support to help us give our kids a Christmas who have wed sacrificed so much this last year and deserve so much more! We are struggling with monthly bills and expenses as they are trying to run two houses.. also need help getting stuff for baby boy Mathias as we never got to have his baby shower or anything to get ready for him. There are so many things we are need of it’s impossible to list… But any help anyone can give is so beyond greatly appreciated and we truly believe it was everyone’s prayers that saved Nicole life and is keeping our Mathias Strong! When Nicole came out of surgery they did not think she would pull through and if she did would need a transplant and have a much less quality oF life! Through prayer and love and miraculous drs she’s here! We just can’t express our gratitude and again anything anyone can do is so beyond appreciated
