After careful consideration and a lot of back and forth, Mariah and I have decided to create a GoFundMe account. Many of our friends have expressed to us that we should do this. Mariah and I are both the type of people that have a very difficult time asking for other family and friends' hard-earned money. This is something Mariah and I have discussed now since pur son, Pueo, was born.
As most of you may already know, Pueo was born on November 20th - 2 months too early at 30 weeks + 6 days. Since he was born prematurely, we have been making a new home at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu while Pueo continues to thrive in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This place has been beyond amazing. However living out of a hospital, car rentals, gas, and most importantly eating 3 square meals a day (while mommy, Mariah, gets her helathy breast milk developed for Pueo), has really began taking a toll on us. Mariah is currently on a leave of absence during her pregranacy with what they call TDI. I on the other hand, being a teacher, was able to take some of the time off.
We humbly ask for any help that our friends and family can provide us. We already feel so beyond blessed by the prayer warriors we have supporting us and the many words of encoruagment. Whether you can give $1, $10 or more, everything will help us create an even more loving and nurshing enviroment for Pueo to grow up in.
Through this time at Kapiolani Medical Center, I have said more than once, I will pay whomever I need to for as long as it takes to repay the amazing doctors for getting Pueo to the healthy young boy he is today. But now I need to face reality, and I know we have many friends and family that are willing to help. Thank You...the 3 of us can not thank you enough for whatever you can share.
