The point is, these seamen are proud and they are on active duty and can't just go out and find a P/T job to hold them over like a civilian has the opportunity to do. For us who have served or are serving we know all to well the unwritten stigma that can come with having your superiors find out that you need financial help. No matter what branch of service you served in or are currently serving in, or whether you've never served we are all brothers in arms. I can guarantee that their are Coast Guard (non-rate) families that would so much appreciate a helping hand to get them through an unexpected hardship.
As a former U.S. Marine, I'm a former Senior Drill Instructor/Marine Recruiter/Howitzer Chief and Infantry Platoon Sergeant. While on active duty myself I did experience an budget stoppage, and although it was hard on all of us, it was twice as hard on those young Marine (non-rates) married individuals. Thank you for reading and visiting the gofundme page, I do understand that the holidays are still upon us all, and the new yer is just days away. Whatever you can give would be so appreciated. thank you, and blessings to all.
