Baby Leonardo's Journey

At 23 weeks pregnant my water broke and our whole world was changed. Not knowing if the doctors would even try to save our son. I closed my eyes and prayed knowing that if there was one thing in this life I would not make it through is burying my son. Pleading with the doctors to save our son I was wheeled into the operating room. Lying on the operating table I held my husband's hand and we prayed to hear just a sound, anything to know our son was alive and okay. Listening for what felt like forever our prayers were answered as the doctor said he was alive and doing okay. At just a little over a 1lb and 11 in long we already could see our son was and is a fighter!! The doctor explained how extremely premature our son is and that the road to recovery is going to be long and full of good and bad days. We explain that we will do whatever it takes to bring our baby boy home to his mommy, daddy, sisters and brothers. Our journey has just begun with our son and we know we have a long road ahead and for that we could really use your help! We are a family of now 8 with only my husband being able to work we are struggling to afford the new costs that come with having an extremely premature baby, and the bills that never seem to end. So we ask of you one of the hardest things to ask friends, family and even strangers, to help us stay with our son!! To get through this time in our life of uncertainty, love, Hope and Faith.
