Baby Kapil & Melissa's medical fund

Helping our brother and his new family. 

On Monday, July 31st 2017 at 2300 Hours we received the unfortunate news that Ravi Kapil's wife Melissa had been involved in a motor vehicle colission with a gravel truck. Melissa is 7 months pregnant. The truck was traveling through a construction zone and took up both lanes of traffic while trying to back into another area with no street lights and poor visibility. This resulted in Melissa having no time to avoid the colission and the driver was charged by Halton Police.  

Melissa was transported to Georgetown hospital where we then learned she broke her leg and had multiple fractures. Melissa was then taken to Hamilton General by helicopter. 

Once at Hamilton General before Melissa's surgery could be performed she began going into labour and was transported to McMaster University Children's Hospital to have an emergency c-section then procede to give Melissa the surgery she needed on her leg. 

A Handsome baby boy Oliver Kapil was delivered at 12:04pm on August 1st 2017 weighing 3 pounds 7 ounces and will be monitored at McMaster Children's Hospital. Melissa then had  surgery to place screws into her leg and wire her knee caps. 

As you can imagine, with money being tight for most people these days and the stress of having a premature new born and two broken legs etc  this new family could use all the help they can get. 

Any amount at all would be helpful to the Kapil's and I'm sure the family bond we all have with one another would be greatly felt in this gesture as we come together to help one of our own.
