Baby Joseph’s eye surgery

Hello Everyone,
I created this account for my son who is turning 2 next month. At around 8 months old we started noticing that his eyes were crossing. However, because this is common among babies it is recommended to wait till they are 1 year old to get it checked out. At that time, we made an appointment with an eye specialist and we were told he has astigmatism, is farsighted and suffers from strabismus (crossed eyes). For some children eye glasses can fix these issues so we went ahead and gave eye glasses a try. However, after almost a year there is no significant improvement with his strabismus and he was recommended for surgery, which is why I’m here. Unfortunately, my husband and I don’t qualify for medi-cal because we make above their limit, but not enough to pay for surgery. Although we are insured we have a high deductible and out of pocket costs that we can’t afford. So we are asking our family and friends and anyone you would like to share this with for help. Donating any amount will help us get closer to our goal and allow our son to have the surgery he needs. We have the option to postpone till we have the funds, but one of the risks of not doing the surgery is losing vision from one eye. Also, since strabismus surgery sometimes requires multiple surgeries (even as early as 6 months after the first surgery), we would rather not wait and at least try to make it happen.
