Hi, my name is Courtney and I’m hoping to help my sister Chloe and her partner Keanu raise funds to help with the cost of a burial plot and a headstone for their little baby boy, and give him the send off he truly deserves.

Chloe and Keanu had booked an appointment at Window to the womb in the hope to find out the gender of their baby for their gender reveal. Unfortunately it was not possible due to a complication that was picked up of reduced amniotic fluid. They were referred to singleton hospital where an emergency scan was taken place to look into the issue further. The doctor they spoke to was unsure what this meant and whether it was any harm to the baby. They checked for development of the kidneys and stomach which was all growing as normal. They suggested a referral to fetal medicine to investigate the problem further. A week later they were seen by a consultant who discovered that the baby’s lungs were on the smaller side, but still no answers were given as to what this really meant for the baby and what problems it could cause. A referral was then made for them to be seen in Cardiff Heath where they were assured more answers could be given. At Chloe’s 20 week anomaly scan, they finally were able to discover the gender (a girl). No problems arose during this scan, apart from the lack of amniotic fluid which they were already aware of. 5 days later they were seen in Cardiff Heath hospital expecting some answers, but instead discovered that unfortunately the baby’s heart had stopped beating. We then had to go straight to Singleton Hospital where the process for Medical Management had started, in order to help the process for her to give birth. 2 days later she was admitted to Singleton, and the next day she gave birth to her beautiful, sleeping baby boy, at exactly 21 weeks.

All of these events took place in a matter of 4 weeks. As you can imagine this was a significant shock and heartbreak for us all, especially Chloe and Keanu, who hadn’t been told there was a possibility this may happen. Questions remain unanswered and the doctors and consultants can’t be sure of how their little baby has lost its life.
