Baby Harriet

Donation protected
On January 23, 2018 the Taleon family tragically lost their beautiful 2 year old baby girl, Harriet Espanola.

Her loving parents, JB and Warlito, are foreign domestic workers living in Hong Kong with few resources and limited family and support systems surrounding them.

Baby Harriet, as our community affectionately came to know her, was born on November 10, 2015 with a rare condition known as TORCH Syndrome.  This is a group of infectious diseases that can cause serious problems in the form of seizures to organs not developing correctly.  Harriet was given a chance at life with the help of the wonderful doctors at Queen Mary Hospital and lived, together with her parents and their employers, amongst our community in Pokfulam.

Sadly, in the early hours of January 21, Baby Harriet suffered several seizures which resulted in fatal damage to her body.

JB and Warlito are now facing the unimaginable. To assist them through this dark time we would like to offer our support by rallying together as a community and helping to raise funds which will allow them to take their precious baby home to the Philippines where she can finally rest in peace.

Our goal is to raise HK$40,000 which will cover the cost of repatriating the body as well as flights home for JB and Warlito.

Please consider a donation to relieve the financial burden from a wonderful pair of hard working domestic helpers.

Please note donations are set in AUD currency as HKD not allowed. If you are in Hong Kong and would prefer to transfer to a local account in HKD, please reach out and I can provide alternative banking details. Thank you!
