Baby Lynnae's NICU costs

My dear friend Jennifer and her husband Stephen got married two years ago, and were expecting their first child, a girl, together in March of 2018. Jennifer, Stephen, and their six year old daughter, Jamie, were ecstatic! But as always, life had other plans. Jennifer started experiencing severe cramping and bleeding around the end of November. After multiple trips to the doctor, they put her on bed rest. Jennifer had gotten a job to cover the costs of the doctor’s visits, and her benefits from her job would only cover her last two months of pregnancy because of enrollment period limitations. Jennifer texted me on December 11th to ask me to pray for her, because her cramping and bleeding had gotten much more severe. Her doctor was genuinely concerned that their baby girl was on her way- at just 27 weeks. Jennifer now had to quit her job that she got to cover her pregnancy costs. On December 14th, Jennifer let me know that she was in the hospital and went from 60% in labor to 90% in labor in a matter of hours. She was also almost 90% to a uterine rupture. She was screaming in agony. But with medicine and monitoring, she soon stabilized. Jennifer let me know she was fine, the pain was very minor, and she and her baby were both fine! We were celebrating this incredible victory- it was truly a miracle! The very next morning, I received a text that Jennifer’s water had broken and she was in labor. Just twelve hours before, we were celebrating, and now, a total 180. Their little girl came into the world two months before she was expected. But the doctors were amazed at how well she was doing! They said she barely even needed additional oxygen! But their baby needs to stay in the NICU until her due date (March 1st). She needs constant monitoring, and they aren’t able to check her blood, brain, or eyes yet, as she is so premature. This sweet family doesn’t have insurance. NICU costs are astronomical.
