<div>After an uneventful pregnancy, our little baby Georgia was born calmly and safely just a few weeks before Christmas on 12/11/22.

<div>Baby Georgia was seeming to do great in life, eating well, and developed the typical newborn jaundice that appeared to clear up within the time frame it should, with just some light lingering breastfeeding jaundice.
</div>

<div>As we got closer to 6 weeks, she was noticeably thin and not gaining weight, and what we thought was breastfeeding jaundice was still present. We had her weighed and discovered she was not even yet at her birth weight, which prompted further research. 
</div>

<div>And then on February 1st, 2023, our life was upended when we heard the news that this was not normal jaundice - it could only be caused by liver problems. We were then told to admit our Tiny Love to Primary Childrens Hospital. After many tests, and ultimately a surgery to confirm, she was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia. 
</div>

<div>Biliary Atresia is a rare liver disease, affecting about 1 in 10,000 - 15,000 live births in the United States. They confirmed Biliary Atresia by surgery, where they were then able to perform the Kasai Procedure on February 5th, 2023. This should buy her an indefinite amount of time before needing a liver transplant.

<div>The outlook is positive, but we have a long road ahead, and to achieve the best outcome she will continue to require careful watching and the best care possible. 
</div>

<div>This is something we never expected to happen, and we’re looking to be able to provide her with all she needs to grow big and strong, no matter the price tag. Unfortunately, many of our costs will have to be paid out of pocket, and the financial toll is already starting to be felt. We thank you for your contribution that will help our little baby live the fullest life possible with the best care &amp; nutrition.
