Baby Casen

One of our own is  hurting and we want to do everything we can to help. Trooper Freeman and his wife Jera are going through every parents nightmare with their newborn baby Casen. Here's a post from Jera, on Baby Casen.

I am going to start updating daily on Facebook of Casen's little journey. Casen has a heart defect, which is causing congestive heart failure. He has a very large hole in his heart, the hole is causing blood to dump into his lungs. His body fluid retention is high, his heart is working harder than it should, & parts of his heart are beginning to weaken because of the other areas working harder. Poor feeding & congestion admitted us into the hospital only for us to find out his heart is failing faster than they anticipated & doctors want to move forward with surgery as soon as possible. Well we found out today he has a virus that is going to lengthen our stay here for a while. Once we are over the virus we will then be transferred from here to Texas Children's in Houston, where we will prepare for surgery. Right now there is a lot we do not know - we don't know how long it will take for him to get over the virus & we don't know exactly when surgery will be. We do know Casen is in the hospital until surgery recovery, he will not go back home until surgery has happened & we are healed. We are looking at a very lengthy hospital stay. Chad & I will make adjustments as needed to be with both of our precious boys over the next couple of months. We will live between Temple, Lampasas, & eventually Houston, but we will make it because we have a great support system of amazing family & friends. I'll make sure to post daily updates.
