Baby Ben's Fund

Three days ago seems like another lifetime. My daughter and her husband have been experiencing the one thing no parent should ever face. Their 3 month-old son is in a struggle for his life.  They have not left his bedside. The rollercoster ride of hope and absolute love has been a miracle for me to witness. We still have no answers to his condition. Our family thanks the doctors and nurses at BDC's emergency room for bringing him back, and the phenominal staff at St. Vincent's NICU for their dedication to this prescious one's life.
All can only imagine their situation.  The outpouring of concern from our friends has been amazing. All are asking what they can do, saying "if there is anything you need, just ask".  Well, I am asking.
Thank you for your kindness. The following was a post from Jessica when our little Benny was first admitted to the NICU:

Not one to post such personal matters on Facebook, but i feel this is the easiest way to reply to all the heart felt messages that we are receiving.
I just need to take a minute and thank everyone who was involved in the worst day of my life yesterday. To everyone that has messaged me, thank you for your concerns and I am trying my hardest to get back to everyone of you. For everyone else that is asking what happened, here is Benjamin's story:
On Sunday Benny lost his appetite and continued to not eat at all the next day so we brought him to his pediatrician where he was admitted to the pediatric ward at billings clinic. From there, his health decreased rapidly and was rushed to the emergency department to be intubated. My whole world crumbled before me as I watched them try to save my baby. There were complications during the intubation so a NICU physician raced in to help. Bennys airway was closed completely from what they think was croup, or from the allergic reaction from the steroids he had minutes before he went into respitory distress. After they intubated him, the flight crew raced him to the pediatric intensive care unit at St. Vincent where he will continue to be on a ventilator until the swelling in his airway is resolved.
Again, I cannot express my gratitude to the emergency room staff for saving my baby and to everyone who has expressed their concern. My family is so incredibly lucky to have the support system we do! Please continue prayers for Benjamin
