Baby Barret's Medical Expenses

Donation protected

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We are starting this campaign in order to help, Patrick and Katie Hoskins, with the impending medical expenses that are accruing while their newborn son, Barret, is being monitored  and treated at Sutter Memorial Hospital.
During this time they are also responsible for lodging expenses, food and gas. Patrick is the sole provider for the family and is having to take extra time off work while they take care of baby. Any help, whether it be prayer, words of wisdom or finacial is GREATLY appreciated but not expected. It took them a few days to agree to starting this campaign but in the end they know they have lots of peolple who love them and want to help where they can. Thank you!
Little Barret's story began Sunday, Jan 22, 2017 when he came into this world as perfect as can be. He appeared healthy and thriving at  6lbs 5oz 18 1/2 in long! Sunday and Monday went great with normal "newborn" behaviors, but things quickly changed Tuesday morning.
Tuesday morning Barret had a few episodes of "apnea" and Katie and Patrick rushed him to the hospital. When they got there the doctor informed them that his blood sugar levels were at 10 (which is dangerously low) and that is what was causing the "apnea." They informed them that once they could stablelize him they would transfer him via "life flight" to Sutter Memorial in Roseville. He was transfered Tuesday afternoon.
Once they got to Sutter, Barret was treated with Dextrose to bring his blood sugar to where it should be. At this time he is being fed via bottle so that they can monitor how much he is consumming. He is also very sleepy and weak due to using up all of his "fat" while fighting. He is eating what doctors are requiring though so hopefully he will start gaining fat soon.
Doctors told them today that they will continue to monitor him and as soon as they are confident he can regulate his blood sugar he can go home. Not sure as of today when that will be but we will continue to update you as we know more.
Once they do go home there will still be frequent doctors visits and Patrick will stay home from work until things are back on track. I can only imagine what this is like for them and would love to raise enough money to help them through this stressful time. Again, please do not feel obligated to donate funds if you are not able. All we ask is that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers and share their story with friends and family!
