Baby Adoption for the Mintz family

Donation protected

Hi, I’m Bethanie, writing this on behalf of my husband, Brian, and our four amazing kids: Tonchi, age 9; Koa, age 7; Aisling, age 5; and Xanthie, age 3. From the time Brian and I were married in 2005, there was no question we would have kids, whether by birth or through adoption, as Brian was adopted as a baby. All four of our children came to us easily; we are so grateful for them and love them dearly.

However, in our attempts to have more children, we’ve encountered great difficulty and heart ache.  Between the two girls (Aisling and Xanthie) we had an early miscarriage, but we didn’t think much about it, as it’s pretty common and soon afterwards we were able to have Xanthie with out any complications or difficulty.  Then in January of 2015, we had a little boy who was stillborn in the 5th month of our pregnancy. We took time to grieve and heal, and then tried again. That November, we had another baby boy, again, stillborn. I took a long time to grieve these precious babies, to heal, and work on my health. Then, just a few months ago, we had one more early miscarriage.

The cumulative loss of these four babies on each one of us has been devastating, as you might imagine. We continue to believe there are more children to be added to our family, and yet, the risks involved with another pregnancy are high, so we carefully contemplated our next steps. We talked and prayed a lot about what we should do, considering our persistent belief that our family was not yet complete. We had a lot of questions: Do Brian and I try again? Is it better to just be grateful for the four children we have? What about adoption?

For two months, Brian and I continued to pray over these questions, but still weren’t sure about what to do. No one else knew what we were considering. I had no idea what the adoption process involved and wasn’t fully convinced it was the next step for us. Finally, in desperation for clarity, I asked God to bring us a baby if we were to adopt; to help us see clearly if that was His desire for us. And He did just that …

Out of the blue recently, my sister called me and told me about a young mama who was pregnant, but knew already that she would not be able to keep the baby. My sister asked, “Would you and Brian be willing to adopt this baby?” In a heartbeat, we said, “YES!!! Yes, we would! Of course!!”  What an answer to prayer! I didn’t have to know the ins and outs of the adoption process – God, in His great mercy, brought us a baby, delivered straight to us! We are so excited to be a part of this mama’s story and to meet the baby, who is due to arrive in late June.

We have been in contact the mama, and I’m so blessed to know her and be a part of her pregnancy and her life. She is a strong woman to already be convinced that she won’t be able to raise this child in the way she desires and to entrust her son or daughter to another family that already adores this little one. We are so blessed and so grateful! We love this mama and hope she will continue to be a part of our lives as we raise this child.

We are truly ecstatic, and yet the reality is, all of this has happened so quickly, we are not financially prepared to take care of the expenses required. Our faith is strong because we see that God has faithfully led us this far and will provide all that we need to bring the baby home to be a part of our family. We also know that we can’t do this alone. Will you join us as we step out in faith to walk the road God has for us? We would so appreciate your prayers and any financial help you can give through Go Fund Me. We would love for you to be a part of our journey!

Thank you!
