Babli is a short documentary, following the life of a middle aged man, suffering from schizophrenia and chronic depression.

The film was shot on a Super 8 cartridge with no editing & premiered during the Cannes Film Festival.

The Jury members included Oscar winning documentary film director Asif Kapadia, Editor Justine Wright, and cinematographer Robbie Ryan.

The film was also screened at the Regent Cinema in London on the 26th May 2019

We are now looking to make a longer form cinematic documentary on super 8mm

Ahmad said, "I wanted to tell a simple story about the human emotion, the struggles of a man locked in his own world suffering from schizophrenia and from the struggle he and his family faced.

"Its not a subject that is talked about in Pakistan mental illness is seen as a taboo.

"So I just wanted to make a film that would open dialogue and discussion within my own south asian community in the UK and also in Pakistan. Try to raise awareness."
