Babes Brigade Clothing Line Fundraiser

Hello friends, supporters and students,

If you skateboard in Toronto, you most likely have seen me at your local skateparks teaching kids or adults how to skateboard.

My name is Steph Battieste, and I started Babes Brigade in April 2015. Babes Brigade is a female-focused skateboarding company based in Toronto, ON, Canada.

I started Babes Brigade as a free Facebook group for other women to meet up and skateboard together. I have hosted over 100 meet-ups over the past seven years and have since started teaching kids, teens and adults.

Over the years, myself, friends and teammates have been in over 20+ media interviews. I managed a seven person skate team, hosted skate events, lessons, meet-ups and even skate competitions.

One of the things I have yet to accomplish fully is a Babes Brigade clothing line. I have tried in the past, but due to unexpected circumstances (i.e. COVID) it had been hard to achieve this successfully.

I plan on continually growing my business to become a successful female-focused skate company owned by a minority female in a male-dominated sport. I have overcome many obstacles over the years. Part of the reason I have so much drive is that I want to inspire more girls to do the same and create a space for female entrepreneurs and business owners within the skateboarding industry in Canada amd beyond.

I am hoping with some support from the community, I can finally make this dream a reality. Skateboarding is mainly seasonal, so having another avenue of income over the winter months will also significantly improve my business's growth over the winter months.

I know that with your help, I can get my clothing line out before Christmas and be able to use the return on those sales to keep producing products.

I have the experience, passion and perseverance to take Babes Brigade to the next level of international growth, so I know the timing is perfect.

I am also a Fashion graduate and previously owned a fashion line.

I have experience, know-how and drive.
