Babe Ruth 14U World Series Bound

My name is Omar Gonzalez, I’m from Griffith, IN and I am one of the coaches for this Hammond Optimist Bulldogs Babe Ruth baseball team. On Monday, July 30th, the Hammond Optimist 14U Bulldogs won the Babe Ruth 14U Ohio Valley Regional Championship.  After 4 straight Ohio Valley Appearances, the Bulldogs have finally achieved their dream of representing their City of Hammond in the World Series!! Not only will they be representing Hammond but also all of Ohio Valley as well. An accomplishment that was not achieved without the blood, sweat and tears of players and parents alike. With this reward of a World Series berth comes some cost and it tends to be a huge expense for the families and players.. The World Series is August 9-16 in Eagle Pass, Texas (YES, TEXAS!) and because of that, hotel and travel expenses will run at least $1500 or more per player. The main use of the funds raised from this page will be used to cover the cost of rooms for all the boys, any extra will be used towards meals for the boys to enjoy as a team, an extra jersey offered by Babe Ruth and any shirts or apparel for the boys to remember the week. Your support and any contribution to help with these expenses is very much appreciated! And will not be forgotten by everyone involved!
