Baba Gebremeskel's Homegoing

Hello everyone,
My name is Fevean Keflom and it is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the unexpected passing of Baba Gebremeskel Yohannes. On the night of February 3, 2018, my uncle and his family attended a community wedding, where he was a respected elder. After an evening of celebration with family and friends, he began complaining of chest pain and decided to head to the hospital with his wife, Tirhas. While driving, his chest pain became severe, causing him to lose consciousness. Tirhas immediately took control of the vehicle, performed CPR, and resuscitated him before flagging down bystanders for help. Baba Gebremeskel was transported to the nearest hospital where, despite the best efforts of the doctors, passed away in the early hours of February 4, 2018 at Ohio State East Hospital.
Baba Gebremeskel was known as a generous, caring, and revered community leader who was always willing to extend a helping hand. He was a freedom fighter for Eritrean Independence, a medical professional, devoted husband to his wife, Tirhas Andemicael, and above all else, a loving and doting father to his four children; Bessrat, Mical, Abel, and Issias. His sudden passing has left the family not only grief-stricken but shocked as they were unable to give their final goodbyes.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018. It is at this time of need that we are asking our family, friends, and the wider community to assist in alleviating the costs for the homegoing and funeral for the Yohannes family. Unfortunately, Baba Gebremeskel was not eligible to obtain life insurance leaving the financial burden entirely shouldered on his young family for the near and distant future. We ask you kindly to contribute as soon as possible as the funds will be directly used to cover all associated expenses. Whatever you can give to facilitate this healing process will be helpful and appreciated.
