My loving wife's fight w/ stage 4 cancer

Donation protected
Kimberly has been my rock for almost 10 years.....a true best friend and wonderful wife.....never wavering ...no matter the problem.....In may, she noticed a sore in the back of her mouth...when it didnt go away...she set up an appointment with an ent doctor......the doctor looked at it and also the swollen lymph node and said almost immediately that it was cancer...most likely stage 3(t3) at the time..... we were floored and a little leary..... a biopsy was done and then a petscan, with a more complete diagnosis in Charleston at MUSC....within a couple weeks....On June 2nd Dr. Day at MUSC said it was stage 4 and very aggressive and we had to be aggressive or she would not live past 6 months......two days later Kim was doing Chemotherapy and was getting scheduled for the surgery to help save her life. Kim said that she would fight with everything shes got. The surgery was 13 hrs and entailed removing part of her lower jaw ....removing the first 3 levels of lymphnodes where it had already travelled.....removing part of her fibula in her leg to rebuild her jaw and taking a skin graft from her upper thigh. She had plowed thru all of this with determination...while in the hospital , her boss terminated her, due to the length of time she would be out of work...even with a doctors excuse for the period in question...So here we are.....I am on a military disability...and taking care of kim at the moment....but will get back to work somewhere as soon as she is out of danger and able to do for herself.....she is out of work ...and unable to look for work as she is using a walker and has bandaged up and swollen parts......while this was all going on in whirlwind fashion....the savings disappeared and the credit cards were maxed.....she was fairly new with job and insurance is denying what they can.....and here we are....we would like to get out from under some of this and make a move to something easier to maintain and catch up on bills while trying to see what programs may help...we realize that is a big number up there....but the one day of surgery alone billed us for $153,000. let alone all the other appointments...the week of chemo at over 15,000...and radiation coming up for up to 5 weeks.....we have always tried to do for ourselves...but this has happened so fast and devastatingly
