Ainsley Ouzts is a beautiful, happy go lucky, three year old with a diagnosis of Alexander Disease.

"Alexander disease is one of a group of neurological conditions known as the leukodystrophies, disorders that are the result of abnormalities in myelin, the “white matter” that protects nerve fibers in the brain. Alexander disease is a rare (only about 500 reported cases since it was first described in 1949), progressive, and often fatal disease (most children do not survive past the age of 6).  There is no cure for Alexander disease, nor is there a standard course of treatment. The prognosis for individuals with Alexander disease is generally poor. Most children with the infantile form do not survive past the age of 6. Juvenile and adult onset forms of the disorder have a slower, more lengthy course."

I am Ainsley's speech therapist, and I am creating this page to help obtain funding for an Alternative and Augmentative Communication device for Ainsley.  This AAC device will allow her to communicate her wants and needs to her family, teachers, and friends. 

Any additional funding over the cost of the AAC device, will go to help her grandparents pay for a wheelchair ramp, therapies not covered by insurance such as aquatic and music therapy, and any additional medical expenses that may occur along the way.

Please help me fund this precious, little girl who is so near and dear to my heart.
