The issue.
Did you know that 79.4 %* of households in less favorable areas in Tunisia do not own a single book and that only 7.4 %* of primary schools in Tunisia have their own library?
A third of the Tunisian kids between 7 and 14 have only minimal competencies in reading and writing*.
How to tackle it?
Books can open new horizons and foster the competencies in reading and writing - but only when they are accessible.
We are joining forces with Association Mizen and our Tunisian IECnet partner firm AWT to select the schools, choose the appropriate books together with the teachers and install a little library in the school.
Association Mizen did a similar project together with University Deakin Australia last year, now we want to equip another first five primary schools in lesser privileged areas in Tunisia.
Please help us to make a direct impact on the kids by helping us to fund this project.
